Initiative Context & Strategic Health Goals

As part of the "Wafaa for Idlib" (Loyalty to Idlib) Campaign and in close cooperation and partnership with the "Idlib Governorate" and regional health directorates, Orient for Human Relief and Developmentlaunched the strategic Medical Supplies Project to reinforce healthcare resilience and supply hospitals and health centers with a steady lifeline of critical pharmaceuticals and life-saving medical consumables.

This initiative responds directly to intense operational strains and supply deficits faced by medical facilities, where predictable supply chains are vital to sustaining emergency surgeries, keeping intensive care units functional, and ensuring vulnerable patients receive uninterrupted acute care.

Orient Logistics Center & Healthcare Storage Standards

Operations were anchored by the establishment of the dedicated Orient Logistics Center in Idlib City, spanning over 1,500 m², engineered as the central staging hub for receiving, inspecting, organizing, and dispatching extensive medical shipments under strict sanitary and logistical controls:

• Inspection & Quality Verification:Licensed pharmaceutical teams inspect incoming shipments against certificates of analysis to verify compound purity, integrity, and safety.
• Cold-Chain & Controlled Storage:Sensitive medications, vaccines, and anesthetics are preserved in temperature-controlled environments backed by 24/7 automated thermal monitoring systems.
• Official Seal "Orient Humanitarian… Distributed Free of Charge":Every box and package is stamped with a distinct emblem guaranteeing free distribution, safeguarding humanitarian aid against commercial diverting or exploitation.

The logistics center processes sequential shipments comprising diverse clinical categories specifically curated to address the most urgent hospital shortages:

Digital Supply Chain & Needs-Based Allocation

In full coordination with health directorates, distribution is governed by comprehensive gap assessments rather than uniform quotas. An integrated inventory management system tracks batch numbers, stock volumes, and expiry dates to ensure efficient, prioritized allocation:

Hospital Network & Geographic Expansion into Aleppo

The project provides ongoing support to premier public and university medical facilities across Idlib Governorate, including:

• Key Idlib Hospitals:Idlib National Hospital, Idlib University Hospital, the Specialized Surgical Hospital (Pediatrics & Obstetrics), Al-Shifa Hospital, Al-Rahma Hospital, and regional health centers.
• Two Dedicated Shipments to Aleppo:Geographic expansion successfully dispatched two comprehensive shipments loaded with critical medicines and emergency consumables to support Aleppo University Hospital and Aleppo Police Hospital.
• Continuous Regional Expansion:Orient teams are actively assessing further health districts and hospitals to extend essential medical deliveries across additional governorates.
